Where are you from? Rural Utah

What are your personal interests/hobbies? Time with family, hiking, camping, backpacking, exercise, cooking, chess and picking up/dropping hobbies faster than I can list them.

What are your professional interests? Rural medicine, wilderness medicine, social medicine, EMS, palliative care.

Why did you choose our program? The chance to practice rural emergency medicine, coupled with the resources and networking of a larger academic center, is an unmatched combo for residency. I am also hoping to finally master Spanish.

What is your favorite activity in Tucson or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? Lots of great outdoor adventures that are different from what we’ve had access to up to now.

What are your nonmedical goals during residency? Master gardening in a low desert and try all the good food. I also want to learn how to cook cactus/nopales.
