Emma K. Swepston, DO
Dr. Swepston grew up in a rural community along the Arizona–Mexico border in the 1990s, where she witnessed the ways substance use and mental health challenges affect individuals and communities. This sparked her lasting interest in community programming and advocacy, and it ultimately inspired her path toward medicine. Over the better part of two decades, she built a career in the nonprofit realm, working across the South and Southwest, notably in New Orleans and Tulsa, Oklahoma, before attending medical school.
Dr. Swepston was delighted to return home to Arizona for residency training to finally become a Wildcat. As an avid hiker and lover of the natural world, she spends much of her free time outdoors, rediscovering the beauty and grandeur of Arizona with her family.
