Where are you from?

Tucson, Arizona

Why did you choose U of A family medicine?
I was drawn to the U of A for its commitment to serving an urban underserved population, strong community ties and opportunities to develop procedural skills while training in a diverse patient population. As a Tucson native and two-time U of A graduate, it is especially meaningful to continue my training in the community that shaped me. Having trained here as a medical student, I witnessed firsthand the programs supportive culture and strong mentorship, which made it a natural fit. I’m so happy to be here.

What are you most excited about for life in Tucson?

I’m excited to stay close to family, explore new golf courses and continue supporting the Wildcats while working on my ever-evolving kitchen projects.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?

I enjoy cooking and baking (currently working on perfecting croissants and ice cream), strength training, taking care of my plant collection and I recently picked up golf. I also enjoy experimenting in the kitchen and supporting the Arizona Wildcats, as well as watching sports of all kinds.

What are your professional interests within medicine?

Preventative medicine and chronic illness management, sports medicine, women’s health and improving my medical Spanish.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

A perfect day off starts with feeding my sourdough starter in preparation for baking later in the day, followed by a trip to the driving range. I enjoy coming home to bake, spending the afternoon reading or watching sports, and ending the day cooking outdoors on the grill or pizza oven. I also enjoy spending a full day in the water when I can.

What is the top item on your bucket list?

I would love to go on a Michelin/James Beard food tour across the United States and, eventually, globally.
