Allison J. Huff, DHEd

Associate Professor, Family and Community Medicine (Research Scholar Track)

Dr. Huff is a convergence scientist whose research focuses on the intersection of chronic pain, substance use disorder (SUD) and personalized interventions that address these complex biopsychosocial conditions. Her work aims to improve access to and continuity of care by developing the behavioral health and primary care workforces and integrating trauma-informed, patient-centered approaches across treatment settings.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement, Dr. Huff mobilizes teams to identify systems-level bottlenecks and co-create scalable, culturally responsive solutions. Her research blends qualitative, mixed-methods and translational approaches to improve outcomes for underserved populations, particularly in the context of opioid use, mental health and structural health disparities.
