Zachary Daniels, DO
Where are you from? Bellingham, Washington
What are your personal interests/hobbies? Trail running, mountain biking, surfing, skiing, sailing
What are your professional interests? Wilderness medicine, global health, palliative care
Why did you choose U of A emergency medicine? I was drawn to the program because of the tight-knit and supportive community, the variety of clinical training sites and the opportunity for medical Spanish education throughout residency.
What is your favorite activity in Tucson or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program? The outdoor access in Tucson was a huge draw for me. I am really looking forward to running and biking on Mount Lemmon this summer to escape the heat.
What are your nonmedical goals during residency? My primary nonmedical goal during residency is to further develop my Spanish language skills through the program's medical Spanish curriculum. I also recently ran my first 50k and am looking forward to the year-round dry trails to further train for these types of races.
