U of A 2025 Distinguished Faculty Awards honor excellence In teaching, research, service

The 27 honorees include the Department of Medicine’s Division of Cardiology and Sarver Heart Center member Marvin Slepian, MD, JD, and Purnima Madhivanan, MBBS, PhD, MPH, associate professor of public health with a dual appointment in DOM’s Division of Infectious Diseases.

College of Medicine – Tucson leadership fellowship graduates include four from DOM

The Department of Medicine’s Drs. Danielle Avila, Billie Bixby, Saher Khalid and Amy Klein presented on their Leadership Advancement in Medicine and Science Fellowship projects May 6, as did three other graduating fellows. Incoming 2025-26 LAMS fellows include the DOM’s Drs. Joy Bulger Beck and Jennifer Plitt. See a mini-photo gallery.

Eleven share honors at Internal Medicine Research Academic Half-Day Awards

Six awards were presented, but 11 physicians won honors at the annual event that culminates a year’s worth of hard work on academic research covering a range of medical challenges for Internal Medicine Residency – Tucson Program members at the U of A Department of Medicine.
