Jamie Louise Manser, BA

Community Outreach Manager I

Jamie Manser has a been a Tucsonan for more than two decades and loves this town! She holds a B.A. from the University of Arizona in Journalism, with a minor in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. Her career background includes working for the Tucson Weekly, the Downtown Tucson Partnership, KXCI 91.3FM, Zocalo Magazine, 2nd Saturdays Downtown, Daniel J. Rylander P.C., UArizona's Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry, and Watershed Management Group. Within those organizations and businesses, she was a writer, editor, photographer, promotions manager, talent booker, publicist, social media manager, staff supervisor, website manager, fundraiser, and advocate; skills she combines in her position with the Psychiatry Department.

She co-founded, and was the founding editor of, Zocalo Magazine - a hyper-local Tucson publication. She still contributes to Zocalo on a regular basis. She is honored to be a part of the Department of Psychiatry due to her interests in mental health, neuroscience, and how brain mechanics influence the body, mind, and emotions.

In her personal life, she loves supporting the local music and arts scene, as well as swimming, hiking, camping, yoga, and travelling - most of which she enjoys doing with her husband and their canine companion Merle.
