Assistant Clinical Professor, Psychiatry - (Clinical Series Track)

Dr. Madan's journey in the field of psychiatry began with his residency training, where he honed his skills and developed his passion for teaching. He completed his residency training at the prestigious Creighton-Nebraska Psychiatry Residency Program in Omaha, Nebraska. Before that, he had already demonstrated his commitment to the field by completing three years of psychiatry residency at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh, India. Throughout his career, Dr. Madan has received numerous accolades for his outstanding teaching abilities. Notably, he was awarded the Teaching Award for the 2020-21 academic year by UA College of Medicine, a testament to his excellence in medical education. His dedication to teaching extends beyond the classroom, as he actively participates in teaching various courses in psychiatry and its subspecialties to both medical students and residents. He has been a presenter of educational workshops/clinical presentations at the American psychiatry Association meetings both in USA and internationally.

Dr. Madan's clinical interests are diverse and include areas such as treatment-resistant depression, neuromodulation modalities, ketamine and psychedelics, substance use disorders, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based psychiatry. He has not only demonstrated his clinical expertise but also his commitment to advancing the field through research. He has published research work in a wide range of clinical areas and continues to further explore his research interests. In addition to his educational and research roles, Dr. Madan plays an active part in various committees and organizations. He serves as a consultant for the Arizona State Medical Board, contributing his expertise to ensure high standards in medical practice. Within the University of Arizona, he represents the medical school at the Council of Faculty and Academic Societies (CFAS) and is involved in Continuing Medical Education committee for the college of medicine.

Furthermore, Dr. Madan is deeply engaged in the Arizona Psychiatric Society, where he serves as the Chair of the Disaster Psychiatry committee and is actively involved in the Early Career Psychiatrist committee, Government Affairs Committee, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee. He strives to continue his dedicated efforts in taking care of his patients, educating & training future generation of medical students and psychiatrists.
