Volunteer Clinical Faculty
The time and effort provided by volunteer faculty to the College of Medicine is greatly appreciated. The College has established a service recognition package for these faculty who have appointments in the suffix or prefix title series. These faculty provide at least 50 hours of teaching per year.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Courses
Volunteer clinical faculty are eligible to enroll tuition free (the only costs will be for meals, syllabi and parking) for continuing medical education courses internally sponsored by the College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center. Medical Bookstore discounts
Receive a 10% discount on purchases of medical books up to $300 annually at the UA Medical Bookstore at AHSC. The College will provide the bookstore with a list of volunteer faculty. Your name must be on the volunteer faculty list for you to qualify. Purchases made from out-of-town will be mailed free of charge.
Faculty Development Opportunities
In Tucson, volunteer clinical faculty who wish to enhance their skills in clinical teaching, student assessment, instructional technology, or organizing education experiences may request assistance by contacting the Office of Educational Development.
The Phoenix Faculty Development Program runs from January through May of each year. Sessions are held at The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix Campus. Visit the Best Practices of Medical Educators (BPME) site for more information.

Arizona Health Sciences Library Privileges
Clinical Faculty are eligible for full privileges at the Arizona Health Sciences Library. You must have a current UA CatCard to receive these benefits. If you don't have one, contact your department to make arrangements to obtain your CatCard.

Eligibility to serve on faculty standing committees
Volunteer Clinical Faculty are eligible to serve as a member of College of Medicine faculty standing committees. For more information, visit the Office of Academic Affairs or call 520/626-4555 for more information.
Certificate of Recognition
In recognition of the contributions to the College of Medicine, volunteer clinical faculty receive an official Certificate of Recognition (suitable for framing) acknowledging participation in the College of Medicine Volunteer Clinical Faculty Program.
