Not since the founding of the University of Arizona College of Medicine in the mid-sixties has there been this number of concurrent searches underway for the position of department head in both the basic science and clinical departments, in addition to director of the Arizona Cancer Center. It provides the College and me with an exciting opportunity and challenge as we move forward with curricular reform and expansion of the College to include an additional four-year campus in Phoenix .
As we continue our quest for excellence in medical education, research and clinical endeavors, we look nationally as well as internally for the men and women who will help guide us through the 21st century.
