The University of Arizona College of Medicine reaches beyond teaching the practice of medicine to engender a desire for lifelong learning and scholarship. In the past three decades, more than 2,100 students have earned their medical degrees and made major contributions in our state and beyond.

Because class size is relatively small, our faculty members get to know each student by serving as mentors and role models, as well as educators. The College of Medicine includes eight Centers of Excellence, designated by the Arizona Board of Regents, and dedicated to specific areas of research, clinical care and teaching.

The primary mission of The University of Arizona College of Medicine is to provide students with the knowledge and skills basic to the practice of medicine while teaching the fundamental attitudes of compassionate patient care.

The College further strives to provide excellent training programs and continuing medical education for residents, clinical fellows, practicing physicians and other health care professionals.

College faculty members work to make contributions to both basic and clinical biomedical research and to model and promote therapeutic innovations in primary and specialty patient care.

Everyone at the College is dedicated to leading research into health care delivery systems and to sharing health information with the people of Arizona.
