THE RURAL HEALTH PROFESSIONS PROGRAM

The Rural Health Professions Program is designed to nurture students' interest in rural medicine. Students are precepted by primary care physicians throughout the state of Arizona. While working with health providers in rural settings, students gain an understanding of the unique health care needs of rural populations and the diverse strategies employed to address these needs.

• Rural Health Professions Program
  A longitudinal experience which places students in the health professions at a rural site at three points in their medical education; between 1st and 2nd years of medical school, during a third year clerkship rotation or elective in year three, and as  a fourth year elective.
