COMMITMENT TO UNDERSERVED PEOPLE PROGRAM

The Commitment to Underserved People Program (CUP) is a medical student directed service learning program. CUP provides early clinical experience in the context of community service to rural and underserved populations in Arizona. CUP also provides learning opportunities in program leadership, health advocacy, and health education and promotion. Student receive clinical skills training in the second week of medical school to enable participation in these programs. Student leaders design, organize, and manage clinical and health education programs starting in their first year of medical school and continuing throughout  their four years of medical school.
