Genetics
Over forty faculty from the Colleges of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Science, Medicine and Graduate comprise the Genetics Graduate Interdisciplinary Program. The basis of the graduate program is the study of genetics in animals, plants, protists, and prokaryotes at the population, organism, cellular, and molecular levels. Research opportunities include gene regulation, developmental genetics, clinical genetics, neurogenetics, population genetics, ecological and evolutionary genetics, quantitative genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics. The Ph.D. program includes core courses to promote breadth in genetics, and additional courses and research to fit the background and interests of the student.
