The above research mentors and their projects are representative of six general research areas:
- Foundations in molecular biology and genomics / Personalized medicine
- Neuroscience
- Endocrine system homeostasis
- Cardiovascular biology
- Reproduction, development, growth and anatomy
- Cancer biology / immunology
Students wishing to reach beyond this list to engage additional researcher mentors at our affiliate institutions in the Phoenix metropolitan area (e.g., Arizona State University, Barrow Neurological Institute, Translational Genomics Research Institute, Banner – Good Samaritan, and Sun Health) are encouraged to contact a Core Faculty member (above) for assistance. In this fashion, students may be able to identify scholarly project mentors who investigate areas complimentary to those of the Basic Medical Sciences faculty, such as in diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and others. |
