Molecular Medicine
Overall Concentration Leaning Objectives:
- Describe the process of translational research and identify a biomedical problem to be studied
- Describe the current models for the molecular basis of selected diseases – etiology, pathophysiology, and treatments
- Discuss the basic concepts of molecular medicine
- Use basic statistical methods
- Critically evaluate primary literature in the biomedical sciences and apply this to support the investigation of the proposed biomedical problem
- Evaluate the design of experiments in molecular medicine
- Develop a hypothesis and design a strategy/appropriate methods for testing this hypothesis in the laboratory
- Collect, analyze and present data on a current problem in medicine and demonstrate in-depth understanding of the field of study
